How to: Rosamund Pike's | Golden Globes Chignon

Awards season is officially in full swing, and we couldn’t be happier. ‘Tis the season pop some popcorn, curl up on the couch and find out what hair and makeup looks Hollywood’s finest have chosen to accompany their jaw-droppingly gorgeous gowns, jewels and accessories—and as luck would have it, we have inside access.

At last night’s Golden Globes, Rosamund Pike (who was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture for her role in The Private War) stunned on the red carpet in a polished updo created by Moroccanoil Celebrity Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett.

look was inspired by Rosamund’s custom black and silver Givenchy Couture dress,” said Bryce. “Her detailed gown was modern and super graphic, and we wanted to make sure that her hair felt sleek and sophisticated to go with her gorgeous dress.”

Best of all? It’s surprisingly easy to recreate. Because while most of us will spend the coming Sunday evenings in sweatpants rather than couture gowns, we can all find an occasion to rock a chic chignon.

Here’s how to get Rosamund’s Golden Globes look:

On damp hair, use a dime size amount of Moroccanoil Treatment Light to provide the perfect foundation for styling.

Next, apply Volumizing Mousse at the roots of the hair and Blow-dry Concentrate at the ends to create a smooth and sleek blowout.

Create a center part and sleek the hair back into a low ponytail, then secure the hair with Luminous Hairspray Strong.

Wet the remaining length of the ponytail with the Luminous Hairspray Strong and comb the hairspray through and then mold the damp hair into a small tight low chignon bun.

Lastly, mist hair with Glimmer Shine to finish the look and give it shine.
